The disorder can be caused by one of two known mutations to the gene COL6A3. The mutation analysed in this test, referred to here as variant 2, is recessive. The other, variant 1, is dominant
Klinische Merkmale
Das Hauptsymptom dieser Störung sind eine kantige Gliedmaßendeformität (krumme Haltung) und eine "plattfüßige" Überdehnung der Karpalgelenke (Handgelenk). Symptome treten im Alter von etwa 4 Monaten auf.
Zusätzliche Information
Zwei verschiedene Mutationen können die Störung verursachen. Dieser Test deckt nur eine von ihnen ab.
